I wrote a new novel -- in 30 days

I did NaNoWriMo last month and wrote an entire novel -- 117,934 words -- in 30 days. I had a blast; it was so much fun... :)

I had a book idea in mind that I was playing with and had decided to write that book, but a few days before NaNo started, another idea floated through my mind and played inside my imagination, so I grabbed it and wrote Pen Stroke. It's a metaphysical mix of writing a novel in 30 days, going on a kahuna quest, and morphing time.

I totally love my new novel.

I'll be doing some editing and playing around with it some more before I'm ready to publish it.

An interesting thing happened on my way through the month-long noveling journey -- an idea for another book was born from this one... a "how-to" for writing a novel in 30 days.

Woof... I mean Woo-Hoo

My mom just told me that I'm going to be in her new book.

I'm doing the happy dance -- I'm so happy that I'm dancing around in circles and I can't stop my tail from wagging.

I'm going to be in the book!!!!! Woof!!!

So I was at the store yesterday returning a printer that was broken. I'd paid for it with a charge card, so the refund naturally went back on my card. But what I didn't expect was that when the cashier gave me the receipt, she also gave me a coupon for $1.00 off a box of instant coffee -- mocha latte.

Pretty amazing since I'd just created "mocha latte" as my pseudonym a few days ago for the new novel I'm writing. Seems like the Universe was saying I'm on the right track.

I love when things like this happen...

Thought it would be fun to create a blog focused on my new book that I'm in the process of writing. Umm, it's not finished yet (not even started) so there's not much to say...

I'm doing NaNoWriMo, writing a 50,000-word novel in a month (November). I'll be back when it's done to share more details.
